How long is the diving trip?

We depart at 0800 hours (morning) from the nearest jetty (or in front of our villa) with a private boat before heading to Redang Island and other diving spots/islands (depending on the dive packages that you choose). The diving trip will typically end at 1600 hours (i.e 4pm) or 1700 hours (5pm).

How many diving spots are there in Redang Island or Terengganu?

There are at least 10-20 diving spots across various islands in Terengganu including Redang Islands, Lang Tengah and other smaller islands. Our diving packages will bring you to the best 4 diving spots that are filled with beautiful corals and sea creatures. These diving spots are carefully selected by our marine experts and scuba masters to give you the best and exclusive diving experience in Terengganu islands.

What types of fishes or sea creatures that I can expect to see in Redang Island or Terengganu waters?

Be prepared to venture into the underwater world where you can spot rare fishes in Redang island, which includes blue-spotted Stingray, Giant Moray Eel, Yellow-tailed Barracudas, Yellow snappers, Blacktip Reef Sharks, Jenkin’s Ray, Yellowtail Scads, Silver Pomfrets, Bumphead Parrotfish, Moon Wrasse, Angelfishes, Butterflyfishes and Clownfishes. You will also be spending some time with turtles around the island as we take you a complete tour of the islands in Redang, Lang-Tengah and other islands in Terengganu. 

When is the best time to dive in Redang Island or in Terengganu?

The diving season on Redang Island starts in March and ends in October, but the best time to dive in Redang is between May until August. It is not advisable to dive in Redang islands in November to January due the monsoon season and choppy waters.

Am I accompanied by a dive master?

Yes, every diving trip will be accompanied by PADI-certified Dive Master or a Scuba Instructor who will be responsible to ensure the safety of the divers during the diving trips. Each diver will undergo safety briefing and hosts of other checklists before undertaking the diving trips.

Does it include a private boat charter? 

Our dive packages are inclusive of private boat charter, which means you will not be sharing the boat with outsiders or the general public. There are no additional charges for boat rental for diving trips. However, should you need a larger boat, or a specific type of boat, catamaran or a fishing boat, please reach out to us and speak to our team to make advance arrangement(s).

Do you offer VVIP private diving packages?

Yes, our diving packages in Redang Island are catered for VVIPs, personalities and discerning individuals who value privacy and exclusivity. Our team of PADI-certified dive masters has clocked in years of experience diving with VVIPs and affluent individuals. Katsetiu VVIP Diving Packages offers top-notch exclusive diving packages with a  personalized touch, away from the mainstream public diving centers in Terengganu.

Can I invite my friends who are not staying in Katsetiu Villas for the diving trip?

Our diving packages listed on the website are exclusive for our guests who are staying in Katsetiu Villas. Whilst we are not able to accommodate external, or outside guests who are not staying with us, there will be an additional surcharge of RM 150 per pax (for a maximum of 2 pax who are not staying with us).

What is the maximum number of divers can you accommodate?

We are able to accommodate up to 6 pax per chartered dive trip. For more than 6 pax, kindly contact our team for further discussion and negotiation.  

Do I need to bring my own diving equipment?

No, our dive packages in Redang island are inclusive of rental of scuba cylinder, masks, flippers, belts, and the full standard dive equipment. There are no additional charges for replacement of the equipment. 

For experienced divers, it is advisable to bring your equipment. This is because some divers have their preferences when it comes to scuba gear, and normally personal gears have been tuned to their buoyancy and style of diving. 

Do I need to bring my own wetsuit or diving suit?

Our dive center will provide diving suits or wet suits to cater for average sizes. This is the best dive center in Terengganu with the latest brand new diving equipment. However, if you feel comfortable, you may bring your own diving suits as we provide cleaning and drying services, after your diving trips.

Do I need to be a certified diver before qualifying or enrolling to the dive packages?

Yes. Only certified divers are allowed to dive. If you don’t have any, you may enroll to our PADI Open Water Diver course which is the entry-level certification program. If you are not sure whether scuba diving is your thing, you can sign up for the Discover Scuba Diving Program and give it a try

Can I join the diving trip without diving as I would prefer to stay on the boat?

Yes you may accompany your partner or spouse, but we will charge you additional RM 150 per pax for the boat rental.

Can I bring my children during the diving trip?

It is not advisable to bring children under 12 during the diving trip despite that they will stay on the boat. We are not responsible for the safety of your children during the diving trip.
